Family Vacation Doesn’t Have to Hurt!

As a young parent, you probably envisioned tropical destination and lots of amazing group activities during a family vacation. Traveling with your family can be incredibly stressful though, especially if you have children under the age of 10.

You can still take a vacation with the people that you love, however. You just need to make sure that you’re going about it the right way. While that’s not always totally easy to do, there are some tips that can help even brand new parents who want to go on vacation with their kids for the first time.

Keep reading to learn more about how family travel can be relatively stress free and as enjoyable as you always imagined.

Take a Destination Vote

Traveling with a family can be difficult in some cases because people often have different interests. Sure, you might want to go rock climbing, but if everybody else wants historic sites, what can you do?

When booking travel, start by finding a destination that has a little bit of something for everybody. You might be paying as a parent, but if you want to have a good time with your family and kids, they need to at least be excited about the trip.

If you’re traveling with children under the age of five, they may not have much of a say where you go. In fact, if you do let them vote, you’ll probably end up at Disneyland every single year until they get too old for that.

Older kids should definitely play a role in where you go, even if they don’t get to have the final say. Places like Singer Island Rentals often have a little bit of something for everyone, making resort-style destinations ideal in many cases.

Book Very Early

Going on vacation with your family means juggling a bunch of different schedules. It also likely means buying a group of airline tickets and maybe booking more than one room in a hotel. Doing this can be hard if you wait too late in the game.

If you want to have your pick of travel destinations, make sure you plan and book early.

Help the Kids

Getting kids to the airport can be a real nightmare. If you work with them to pack and make sure you plan plenty of time though, you may be able to avoid last minute shenanigans that will turn your hair gray.
